TerraMine Coal Mine Guide: The Fast Minimap Method

The Coal game can feel confusing at first, but its route is simpler than it looks. I ignore the main animation, navigate entirely by the minimap and keep moving toward the bottom-right finish.

The entire strategy in one sentence

Use only the minimap, spam the arrows toward the bottom-right corner, and never reverse onto the path you just left.

Your miner always begins in the top-left corner of the minimap and finishes in the bottom-right corner. The path may turn many times, but in my experience it is a forward route—not a maze that requires backtracking.

What “always move forward” means: use Left, Right, Down or Up as the visible path requires, but do not press the direction that sends you directly back to the tile you just crossed.

How I clear a Coal game

  1. Find the miner on the minimap. Start at its top-left corner and treat the large game visuals as decoration.
  2. Read the next open direction. Tap the corresponding arrow—Left, Right, Down or Up.
  3. Keep tapping quickly. Follow the turns without pausing to study the main scene.
  4. Do not backtrack. Remember the direction you arrived from and choose the next direction that continues the route.
  5. Reach the bottom-right corner. That is the finish; once you understand this fixed start-to-finish pattern, the game becomes fast and repeatable.
The practical mindset: you are not exploring a maze. You are pushing a marker along a winding line from one known corner to the opposite corner.

Why I ignore the main game visuals

The main view adds movement, obstacles and visual noise, but the minimap contains the information needed to navigate. Watching both can slow your decisions and make the game appear more complicated than it is.

  • Watch the minimap: it shows your location and the direction of the route.
  • Use the arrow controls: make rapid directional inputs as the path turns.
  • Ignore the spectacle: do not wait for every animation to finish before reading your next move.
  • Maintain orientation: knowing where you came from prevents accidental reversals.

Once this clicks, “play the Coal game” becomes a very small task: locate, tap, turn, repeat.

Traps, health and the restart rule

I normally ignore traps and simply walk through them. On the easier Coal levels, they usually do not interfere enough to justify slowing down or attempting to avoid them.

Medium difficulty can occasionally run close on health or time. If I am visibly near the bottom-right finish, watching an ad for extra health or time can be reasonable. If I am not close, I restart and begin a new game instead.

Do not rescue a bad run out of habit. There is no meaningful penalty for restarting, so an ad is best reserved for a run that is already close enough to finish. Hard difficulty is generally avoided in this strategy because the extra friction, failures and possible revives can overwhelm its reward.

Best Coal levels for earning TerraBucks

Coal is, in my experience, the best and fastest repeatable way to accumulate TerraBucks. The exact stopping point matters, however: later levels can consume much more time and attention.

Coal levelsTB per gameGames per levelTB per levelMy verdict
1–105 TB525 TBExcellent; 250 TB across ten levels
11–3015 TB575 TBGood; 1,500 TB across twenty levels
31+30 TB on completion*VariableVariableUsually skip; difficulty rises sharply

*This reflects my current in-game experience. TerraMine can change rewards, difficulty, ads or other mechanics; verify the displayed reward in the app before spending time on a run.

My current stopping logic

I strongly favor clearing levels 1–10 and generally consider 11–30 worthwhile. Beyond level 30, the harder runs, timeouts and revive decisions have not been efficient enough for my TB-accumulation strategy.

A fast farming routine

  1. Prioritize Coal 1–10. These are easy, consistent runs and provide 250 TB across the ten levels.
  2. Continue through 11–30 when practical. These levels are still productive, yielding 75 TB per completed level under the current structure.
  3. Navigate only by minimap. Start top-left, finish bottom-right and never reverse.
  4. Ignore ordinary trap damage. Preserve speed unless health or time is genuinely threatening completion.
  5. Use one rescue ad only near the finish. Otherwise restart without treating the failed run as a sunk cost.
  6. Avoid Hard by default. More TB is not better if the reward requires disproportionate time, attention and ads.

Frequently asked questions

Is the TerraMine Coal game a maze?

It may look maze-like at first, but I do not play it as one. The miner starts in the top-left, the finish is in the bottom-right, and the route can be followed without reversing onto the path you just used.

Should I watch the miner in the main game window?

No. My method is to navigate from the minimap alone. It presents the useful route information more clearly and lets me enter directions faster.

Should I avoid the traps?

Usually not. I walk through them and keep moving. They can matter more on Medium, but even then I consider an ad only when the run is close to completion.

What if I run out of health or time?

If the bottom-right finish is close, an ad for health or extra time may save an otherwise successful run. If it is not close, I restart; there is no penalty that makes a bad run worth rescuing.

Are the Hard Coal levels worth playing?

Not for my current TB-farming strategy. They are substantially harder, and the possibility of timeouts and multiple rescue ads makes their practical return unattractive.

Is Coal the fastest way to earn TerraBucks?

It has been the best and fastest method in my experience, especially across levels 1–30. Your results can differ with game changes, ad availability and how quickly you learn the minimap method.
